CSUMB & College Students

There are a number of valuable positions available to CSUMB/college students for their service learning hours.

Coaching: students who are not afraid to make fools of themselves with the participants while being positive role models that are willing to coach them in golf and life skills. No previous golfing experience needed!

Tutoring: students able to assist participants in the after school program with their homework (math, science, English, etc.) or students experienced with software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator that are willing to lead small workshops.

Here is how to get started:

Step 1: Download and complete a copy of the Volunteer Application  and turn it in to The First Tee of Monterey County

Step 2:  Receive the Live Scan paperwork for a background check.  Bring background paperwork to ID Solutions in Marina or the UPS Store in Salinas (off Constitution Blvd) along with your CSUMB student ID for a Live Scan (fingerprinting) free of charge. Non-CSUMB students must pay $12.50.

Step 3:  The final step is to sign up for an orientation.  A 2-hour orientation is conducted for all volunteers at The First Tee of Monterey County. This orientation will count as part of your service. During the orientation we will determine your schedule for the remainder of semester and complete your Service Learning Agreement.
