Congratulations Blake!!

Congratulations to Blake Cardoza for raising $608 for The First Tee of Monterey County's Restoration Project!!

Blake is working on a project over the school year and has a goal of raising over $500.  Blake has come up with the entire plan for the project including what will be restored on campus, what materials he will need, identifying who will help, planning and carrying out the fundraisers to earn the money needed, and carry out the final restoration.   The bake sale Blake had over the weekend was the first of 2-3 planned fundraisers to cover the cost of the project to be completed in April/May.

If you see him on campus, congratulate him for his dedication to his goal!  Way to go Blake!!

Pedro at the National Trustees Dinner

The First Tee hosted the National Trustees to an event at Pebble last week. Honorary Chair, George W. Bush, was present along with Tim Finchem. Our participant, Pedro Ortiz, was selected to represent our chapter and be interviewed by Bobby Clampett. Pedro has been with us since 4th grade and is now a senior at Salinas High School. He is very active at our chapter as a participant and an assistant coach. Additionally, he is interning at Poppy Hills Golf Course at Pebble Beach and hopes to attend UCLA to study engineering. We are very proud for everything that Pedro has accomplished and have high hopes for his future. To read more, go on http://blog.thefirsttee.org/2014/10/16/i-ready-risk-everything-pedro-ortiz/
