The Pure Championship First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, a unique event on the Champions Tour, was launched in 2004. It is held on two of the Monterey Peninsula’s most beautiful and world-renowned golf courses, Pebble Beach Golf Links and Poppy Hills Golf Course. This tournament serves as an international showcase for The First Tee, an initiative to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. Professional Paul Broadhurst, won the 2016 Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach and hopefully will be back to defend his title!
Since its inception, the Monterey Peninsula Foundation has focused on improving the quality of life on the Monterey Peninsula and surrounding areas and has directly impacted and provided meaningful and measurable benefits to the community. Today, the Foundation is committed to funding organizations and programs that demonstrate the greatest positive effect. The Foundation is guided in grant making by specific areas of interest that include: youth, education, health, human services, arts, community and environmental programs. Particular emphasis is given to the promotion of youth development and educational programs that develop and foster contributing members to the community’s values and ideals for future generations.
February 6th- February 12th, 2017 Top TOUR professionals team with Hollywood celebrities, world renowned musicians and the captains of industry as they compete for a $6.1 million purse. Foursomes rotate to MPCC Shore Course, Spyglass Hill and Pebble Beach Golf Links Thursday through Saturday. The infamous ‘cut’ is made on Saturday night and the leading 60 professionals and 25 pro-am teams play Pebble Beach on Sunday for the championship. Last year’s champion Vaughn Taylor looks to defend his title.
The NCGA Foundation promotes life skills and values to deserving youth in Northern California through the game of golf. Additionally, the Foundation supports the growth of the game while providing youth the opportunities and motivation to become productive citizens and lifelong golfers.
Including Special Kids is an adaptive skills and socialization program that provides support and training in recreational community set- tings for youth with developmental disabilities, ages 6-18.
The Clubhouse Network provides a creative and safe after-school learning environment where young people from under-served communities work with adult mentors to explore their own ideas, develop skills, and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology. Established in 1993 by the Boston Museum of Science in collaboration with the MIT Media Laboratory, The Clubhouse Network helps youth acquire the tools necessary for personal and professional success.
The NASA Science Engineering Mathematics and Aerospace Academy, or MAA, is a national, innovative project designed to increase participation and retention of historically underrepresented K-12 youth in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM.MAA has emerged as a nationally renowned leader in the efforts to increase the participation of historically under-served K-12 youth in the areas of STEM. Established as a joint venture in 1993 between NASA Glenn Research Center and Cuyahoga Community College, the project has grown from a single site to a national organization that is supported by Congress and dedicated to improving the academic success of children nationwide.
Youth On Course
Golf teaches important social, mental, and physical skills and each round is filled with learning potential. Providing youth with access to affordable golf is the core of what we do. Youth on Course members play golf at hundreds of participating courses for $5 or less.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Junior Golf Association is a local non-profit organization created in 1988 to introduce the game of golf to young people between the ages of 7 and 17 who live and attend school in Monterey County.
PGA jr. League Golf
PGA Junior League Golf is the key youth initiative of PGA REACH, the charitable arm of the PGA of America. As such, the program focuses on fun, recreation, good health and sportsmanship. PGA Junior League Golf is recreational and developmental in nature and works with PGA Sections and local youth organizations across the country to offer an alternative, social golf format. This unique approach highlights team play versus individual competition and serves as a feeder system to transition youth golfers to existing junior golf programs.
Drive Chip & Putt Championship
A joint initiative founded in 2013 by the Masters Tournament, United States Golf Association and The PGA of America, the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship is a free nationwide junior golf development competition aimed at growing the game by focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf.
Hurrican jr. Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour.
U.S. Kids Golf
U.S. Kids Golf was started as a family business desiring to stay true to the mission and purpose of bringing kids into the game. Because providing the right equipment needed to be coupled with improved programs, coaching, and opportunity for competition, like other organized sports, the Foundation was started.
Boys & Girls Club of America
Helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community and celebrating our national heritage.

The AJGA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

We offer a variety of fun, competitive, affordable junior golf tournaments for boys and girls ages 7 to 18. The Augusta National Golf Club has provided start-up and development funding along with continued support and belief in The First Tee, its mission, goals and purpose.
The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) has provided The First Tee with information, educational materials and curriculum models from the LPGA Urban Youth Golf Program, a community based junior golf program that was established by the LPGA in 1989. Several LPGA Tour members have participated in The First Tee events and are serving on local Boards of Directors for The First Tee Chapters. There are also a number of LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division members who teach or manage programs for The First Tee Chapters throughout the United States.
The PGA of America has provided start-up and development funding to The First Tee and made teaching grants available through its local Sections to fund golf instruction at The First Tee Chapters nationwide. PGA of America Professionals are personally involved; conducting lessons, mentoring young people and serving on The First Tee Chapter Boards of Directors.
In addition to start-up and development funding from tournament proceeds, the PGA TOUR demonstrates leadership and assistance by lending its considerable resources to promote The First Tee, and by assisting Chapters with facility design through PGA TOUR Design Services, Inc. Additionally, many PGA TOUR members volunteer their time and services to participate in The First Tee Chapter events. A number of PGA TOUR tournaments provide financial and volunteer support to various Chapters of The First Tee.
Through the United States Golf Association’s “For The Good of the Game” Initiative, which is a $50 million grant program over a 10-year period, the USGA Foundation has provided start-up and development support to The First Tee as well as grants directly to The First Tee Chapters. The Foundation reviews grant requests directly from Chapters on a case-by-case basis for a variety of needs that range from golf course access and instruction to academic tutoring.
